The following story, c. 1981-1982 possibly from the Patent Trader newspaper, is about the sale of the Purdys Central High School building. The picture is of Lia Cipriani’s (Class of ‘67) mother who then worked at North Salem High School which replaced Purdys as a township high school in the winter of 1962-1963. The Purdys Central school building was constructed beginning in 1927 as evidenced by the carved stone. The first graduating senior class was in 1930, the last in 1962.
