Purdys Central High School - 1929

Construction of the North Salem Central High School (in Purdys, NY - hence the common name Purdys Central High School) began in 1927 (witness the carving on one of the cornerstones) and the building was first occupied in the 1928-1929 school year.

Certainly there were "under-class" graduations in June, 1929, but the first senior class to graduate Purdys Central High School was in June 1930 as documented in that year's June, 1930, "Salemite" publication.

Although the first graduating senior class was in 1930, presented in the following pages is the "Salemite" school paper of June, 1929 - what normally would be the equivalent of a publication focused on the senior class. It makes for interesting reading.
